The switch has been replaced with a new customizable Action button that can be programmed to perform various functions such as toggling the flashlight, launching apps like Camera, Voice Memos, and Translate, setting a Focus mode, or running a Shortcut. However, users can still set the Action button to function as the traditional ring/silent switch. It’s worth noting that the original ring/silent switch on the first iPhone remains unchanged on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models.

USB-C
Apple has replaced the Lightning port with a USB-C port on the entire lineup. However, the charging speed remains constant, as it was with its predecessor. With this upgrade, the same charger can charge the MacBook, iPad, and AirPods 2.

Emergency assistance
